Groundworks has always relied on diesel plant, petrol tools and diesel vans. Our long-term goal is to become one of the leading low-carbon groundworks contractors in the West Midlands, and then across the UK, by moving away from that wherever it is practical.

Honest about where we are. We are not a fully electric contractor yet, and some heavy plant still needs conventional power. This is the direction we are actively building towards, and we will always be clear about where we are today.

Do you work as a groundworks subcontractor?
Yes. We work as a groundworks subcontractor for tier one and tier two main contractors, developers and housebuilders, and directly for councils, schools, businesses and homeowners.
Can you help our project meet BREEAM or sustainability targets?
We plan and deliver our packages to reduce fuel use, waste and unnecessary journeys, and we are happy to talk through how our approach supports your sustainability targets and footprint ratings at tender stage.
Are you a fully electric contractor?
Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. Some heavy plant still needs conventional power. We are moving towards battery tools, cleaner plant and electric vehicles as they become practical, with a plan to build an increasingly electric fleet over roughly the next 10 years.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Bromsgrove and work across Birmingham, Worcestershire and the wider West Midlands. We also take on larger packages further afield, including the East Midlands.
Do you take on domestic work?
Yes. Alongside commercial packages we carry out driveways, patios, drainage, walls and fencing for homeowners, with the same standards on every job.
How do you keep projects on programme?
Careful planning, proper resourcing and clear communication. Our core team is scaled up with experienced labour for larger packages, and every job completed under our own name has finished on programme.
